This website "Tibetan Culture" was developed in 2016 under the direction of Gray Tuttle, Leila Hadley Luce Professor of Modern Tibetan Studies, for the primary purpose of archiving and presenting exceptional projects by largely undergraduate students in the Global Core course "Intro to East Asian Civilization: Tibet" at Columbia University.

See below for additional resources developed by students in other Tibetan Studies classes, including "Life Writing," "Monastic Institutions," "Climate History of the Tibetan Plateau" and "Tibetan Rivers and Roads: Infrastructure, Environment and Urban Lives."

This website is made possible with funding from the National Resource Council (NRC) and is actively updated by the Modern Tibetan Studies Program at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute. Contact: mtspdirector@columbia.edu

The Tibetan Civilization course has subsequently been taught by Dr. Patrick Booz, Dr. Anna Sehnalova and now Dr. Lauran Hartley (lh2112@columbia.edu) and is offered every fall semester.
